Damn Bruins

First they taken down Matty Barkley’s bootiful face off  Westwood Billboard and now they have to beat Rice in their opening game.  Jim Mora ain’t looking that half bad……

A few days ago, USC quarterback Matt Barkley’s awesome possum Billboard was taken down in Westwood (UCLA territory), not too far from the main campus.  The billboard was stripped or painted over either late Monday night or early Tuesday morning and now shows nothing but a black background.  The billboard featured the Trojan stud standing at a wooden podium with an official USC Trojans microphone right below him, looking off into the crowd…..or the distance…along with big bold letters, “WE PLAY TO FINISH,” with the LA in “PLAY” highlighted in gold.  Trojan gold…..none of the Bruin yellow shizzz.  Love it.

Unfortunately the billboard was taken down after 1 DAY.  No worries though, it clearly has done its damage.  FIGHT ON you UCLA bruins.

According to ESPN, Several Bruin players said that the Billboard was too close to comfort.  Well yea, it was only in your backyard.  Come on Boys!  Just giving you some steam to blow off before game day!  Get you all fired up for those bowl games you won’t be playing in.

Apparently the covering up of the billboard was not a “USC decision.”  Sorry, but no duh?  Why would they ever take it down in enemy territory?  It’s like pulling back your troops right before battle.  UCLA officials have also denied any involvement.  Yes, all bruins must protect their own.  I would sure hope so, don’t want any Benedict Arnolds here.

The billboard site is owned by Regency Outdoor Advertising, a company co-owned by Brian Kennedy, a prominent USC donor. Kennedy said Tuesday the company decided to move the Barkley board to another location.  This just gets better and better 😀

It is beyond awesome that the Billboard was in Westwood, prime time hangout for FUCLA students……or asians.  But what is even better is the how perfect the location was, on the corner of Westwood Boulevard and Lindbrook Drive, a major MAJOR West LA traffic trap.  For all you farming non city dwellers out there….when I say traffic trap, I mean a car gridlock where the cars ain’t moving in the streets because everybody is trying to get home the exact same time at 5pm.  Doesn’t that sound just great!  Well the SC marketers made the best of an LA situation…..and placed this glorious Billboard right in the heart of Westwood’s traffic trap.  People just sitting in their cars with nothing to look at except the car in front of you, the traffic light, and the big beautiful billboards in the sky.  I can see it now, all these UCLA alumni, students and fans in their cars….steaming with anger or just in absolute disbelief that a USC billboard would be chilling near their precious baby blue school when football season is about the begin.  Forgive the obligatory Ha HAAAA (Nelson Muntz insert).  I’m surprised it took them a day to take it down.  I mean UCLA actually has the letters “LA” in their school name than USC…..hmmmmmmmm interesting.   If a UCLA billboard was up in south central, SC territory, it wouldn’t have even lasted an hour.

UCLA fans on online message boards congregated when the LATimes story was released and complained about the ad being near the school’s campus, appearing to jokingly plan on a blue-paintball assault on the billboard to reclaim their territory. Subtle…..

“I wish some one (sic) would take the time to deface it,” one fan wrote. “Just saying.”  Then do it!  Bruin Bitch.

None of the other 29 Billboards with Barkley’s face have been taken down. This multi-platform SC marketing campaign will continue on bus wraps and other available ad slots around Southern California…. not near Bruinville…and will stretch out nationwide next week.

Barkley seemed unfazed by it all….but secretly LOVING it. “I know they’re up all over Southern California,” he said. “My job is on the field, so whatever happens with that happens.”  Spoken by a true class act.  FIGHT ON Matty!

Take a splash in the Pacific :)

The most wonderful time of year is upon us……..COLLEGE FOOTBALL baby!

Aside from the awesomeness that is USC, there are four new coaches in the Pac-12 Conference.  Four teams who will debuting not just a new coach but a new team, a new work ethic, a new collegiate football culture.  Not the exact time and place these teams would have liked to be at in their athletic career, but hey!  better make the best of it.

Rich Rodriguez (or RiRo as I like to call him) is at Arizona, Todd Graham at Arizona State, Mike Leach at Washington State, and of course….Jim Mora at FUCLA.  Apparently these fab four our pocketing a lot more money these days than their predecessors.  Big time hires means Big time money, which can only mean Big time season!

With that being said, the expectations are running purdy darn high for these Pac 12 teams.  We all know SC is going to dominate the conference along with those pesky but damn good-looking Ducks, but that leaves the 10 remaining teams with the difficult challenge to fulfill those high expectations and ACTUALLY compete.  That is either going to make the 2012 season a yawn for those SEC bandwagon fans on the other side of the country or an absolute BLASTY for those west coasters who want to see if these new coaches will put their money where their mouth is.

So how do these coaches deal with all these high expectations?  They call it “Re-Building.”  The word “re-building” just sounds safer   and sounder than “conference domination” or “we are here to win!”  Winning is the obvious but a new coach isn’t going to come in and expect the team to win the conference let alone every game.

Arizona State’s coach is either the most delusional about the issue or just a smart guy who knows how to win over his team:

“We’re in some big-time recruiting battles right now,” Graham said. “Kids want to go to a big-time program. I’m just being honest. If I sit here and say, ‘Well, you know, it’s just going to take time.’ I don’t think they want to hear that. And I really don’t think that’s the reality of it. It’s just not in my mindset to approach things that way. I just believe you can get what you expect. Is it going to be easy? No. Are we going to face a lot of adversity? Yes. Can we win a championship this first year? Yes we can. That’s what our mission is going to be.”

This relentless optimism can get obnoxious but can also be what is giving a football team the energy and attitude they need to make it to practice everyday and suit up for the big games.  Any athletic team needs focus, discipline and dedication, ultimately relying on their coaches for that push.  Will these four new coaches reach the promise land?  Well, definitely not in their first season…..but let us hope for the best and encourage these coaches to make the Pac-12 the most competitive conference in college football 🙂  Just to shut up that pesky SEC conference.

Good Riddance to the Bitch

YES.  Andrew Bynum is gone and we got Dwight Howard.  Maybe dreams really do come true…….

I just had to make a post about this amazing trade, more amazing that Bynum is gone and is never coming back.  I have never really agreed with Stephen A. Smith and am more partial to side with Skip Bayliss on ESPN’s First Take.  But this time, Bayliss is sadly…. sadly mistaken.

Just watch the clip displaying the intense argument over the bitch that is Andrew Bynum, titled  “Kareem Questions Bynum’s Commitment.”

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8274551

In case you missed the fast paced reading of ESPN anchors, here is Kareem’s quote for you to get the full effect of the Bitch that is Andrew Bynum: “Andrew has been up and down on that issue. There are times he wants to play, do a great job and he goes out and does it.  Then here are other times where it seems like he’s not focused….When I first started working with him, he was eager to learn.  He appreciated me shortening the learning curve.  Once he figured he did everything he wanted to do in terms of learning, he didn’t want me to bother him constantly going over the fundamentals.”

Love me some Stephen A. Smith right about now.  He is COMPLETELY right.  WTF Skip?  Where do you get off questioning the word and talent of a basketball legend?  There is just no reasonable logic in defending the Bitch that is Bynum.  He clearly isn’t up to the level that is six-time NBA champion Kareem Abdul Jabbar and has obviously demonstrated a bratty attitude when playing for the Lake Show.  He clearly doesn’t want to listen to any advice from a NBA hall of fame player, who just wants to help him grow and become a better player.  Are you now the better player Bynum??  You don’t need any other outside help??  Why did he even show up to practice if he is soo damn good?  He was obviously above everybody else :/

Why have to deal with a temperamental douche who doesn’t want to play with one of the best basketball players in the game?  Shaq and Kobe hated each other towards the end despite winning some championship rings…and THAT animosity and tension didn’t negatively affect Shaq’s hustle and attitude.  He came to play and WON.

If Bynum was a professional, he would have swallowed his tongue and listened to what Kareem had to say.  You would listen and RESPECT what the legend had to say.  RESPECT is not a quality the Bitch has and probably will never have.  He could have been great with the Lakers, but his heart was never in it.

I don’t want to hope for Bynum to fail in Philadelphia….but it would be nice for some one to slap him silly.  All that potential and talent needs to go somewhere….and it sadly went nowhere in LA.  I only say “nowhere” because Bynum was putting up good numbers.   Despite those solid numbers, his bad attitude was just so palpable it became just frustrating to watch him play and watch his negative emotions seep into the team’s mentality.  His ungrateful attitude overshadowed his god given talent in LA.  After the playoff loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder last year, the Bitch Bynum told the press that he “would play for any team” next season.  WTF dude?  I guess we don’t want you here either, you ungrateful douche.  Get out of here and never come back.  Have fun re-creating the Rocky jog up those steps and chilling with the Liberty Bell.  Hey there is something you are definitely familiar with…… objects that are smaller than they actually appear.  HMMMmmmm…. explains so much……..

Good riddance to the bitchy ungrateful disrespectful rubbish.

They’re Here……….

The time has come……the Trojans must avenge their SEC enemies and take back what truly belongs to them.

CHAMPIONSHIP BABY!!!!

Did the NCAA sanctions cripple this football program??  I think not motha fuckas!!!!!!!

ESPN ranked the unfazed Trojans at number 1 in their Power Rankings.  Say waaaaaaaat?  Matty Barkley, who skipped out on entering the NFL as a number 1 draft pick to stay for his senior year (what is going to be an amazing comeback year for the Trojans), is obviously a Heisman trophy favorite.  Suck it Mark Emmert and your useless NCAA punishments 😛

The Trojans haven’t risen from the dead.  Sorry NCAA, but they were never dead.  These last two years have just been a hibernation to reconstruct and solidify their college football dynasty.  “Our goal was just to maximize the situation we were put in,” USC coach Lane Kiffin said. “We didn’t know exactly what that’s going to mean.”  Damn right your going to maximize the situation.

Maximize it soo much that SC went ahead and snatched up Penn State’s star running back Silas Redd after the Nittany Lions were slapped with one of the “harshest” NCAA punishments.  MHHmmmmmm we will see about that Penn State.  We will see……

In 2010, USC was slapped with what I believe are THE harshest NCAA sanctions:

• A postseason ban in football following the 2010 and 2011 seasons. If we win this year then who the F*ck cares.

• A loss of 30 total football scholarships over the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons.  Ouchies……

• A vacation of all football victories starting in December 2004 and running through the 2005 season. This includes the national championship win over Oklahoma on Jan. 4, 2005. RETARDED

• All statistics vacated for Bush, Mayo and women’s tennis athlete Gabriela Niculescu in the games which the NCAA deemed them ineligible due to rules violations. Meh…….

• Bush and Mayo must be disassociated from USC athletics.  Sad Face.

• An acceptance of USC’s self-imposed penalties on its basketball program, which included a forfeiture of all wins in 2007-2008 and a one-year postseason ban.  POINTLESS

• All titles won during ineligible games must be vacated and trophies and banners must be removed. RETARDED

• A vacation of wins in the women’s tennis program from May 2006 to May 2009, for long-distance telephone violations committed by a student-athlete.  We have a tennis team?

• A reduction of recruiting days for the men’s basketball program in 2010-2011.  Who cares?

• Four years of probation. UGH

HMMMMMmmmm not looking so bad huh Penn State :/

Kiffin just made the right moves.  He effectively delayed scholarship limits, making this season filled with experienced veteran players who are going to be competing for the National Championship.  BOOYAH.  Kiffin strategically signed players that would play at SC for at least three years or more.  “We signed a kicker, a punter and a snapper so that we wouldn’t have to for the next four years,” Kiffin said.  “You’ve got scholarship players at the three specialist positions,” Kiffin said. “My point is that isn’t for this year. That’s for a long time. That’s why it’s so big. Those guys are either sophomores or redshirt freshmen. They still have three or four years.”  Redshirt those fools like there is no tomorrow!  Kiffin, I love this long-term plan playa! 😀

As the scholarship reductions take a greater toll on football enrollment the next two seasons, USC will likely start feeling the NCAA bitch slap.  But hey!  At least they will still be polishing their Championship Crystal Ball and Heisman Trophy chillin’ in Heritage Hall.  Can NOT wait for September 1st baby, BEAT THE WARRIORS!!!!!!

Time to Kiss the Baby Ocho Cino

Chad Ocho Cinco, previously and now legally known as Chad Johnson, is seriously dunzo.

This once comical football player is now out of a job and in some bad news bears trouble with the law.  The Miami Dolphins terminated his contract within 24 hours of his arrest for a domestic battery case involving his new wife, Evelyn Lozada.  Apparently, his wife accused him of Head Butting her during an argument in front of their home.  HEAD BUTTING CHAD??!  daYum, i didn’t know that was back in style :/

Chad and Eve have only been married a month and are already battling it out to see who beat the shiz out of each other.  I mean……Eve was on the reality show “Basketball Wives,”  she clearly knows how to play the marry an athlete and get rich game.  These two lovebirds met on Twitter….and not on cordial circumstances.  If any of you say last week’s Hard Knocks season premiere episode following the Miami Dolphins training camp, Eve and Chad explained how they met on Twitter, Eve talking shit and taunting Chad soo much that he just HAD to meet this classy woman.  Good thing he changed his name back to Johnson just for this special lady.

Don’t get me wrong, meeting on the Internet accounts for more than 20% of couples in this country today, but would you really want to meet something who is calling you garbage and would withhold sex from you until you scored a touchdown?  Lame.

Johnson has been battling for a spot on the Dolphins’ roster after a very disappointing season with the New England Pats in 2011.  He only complete 15 receptions.  Ouchies.  Sounds like Tom Brady didn’t like his swag soo much neither. Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin knew Chad’s termination was a long time coming, citing that Johnson didn’t “fit” with the team.  Sound like another classic breakup excuse, “it just isn’t going to work out.”

Apparently, Chad has a history with domestic violence.  Sad 😦  And I used to LOVE this guy on the Bengals.

He was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in L.A. on February 7, 2000, which was before he was playing football for Oregon State University.

Apparently it was his girlfriend that he slapped across the face after he accused her of cheating — to which he pled no contest, and the court found him guilty of domestic battery.

He was then sentenced to 3 years probation and ordered to serve 45 days in L.A. County Jail.

He didn’t see any of that jail time, though, and instead completed 30 days of graffiti removal work along with completing a 12 month batterer’s counseling program — and ordered to stay 100 yards away from the victim. He strategically decided to put off the hard labor and the domestic violence program for years. That’s when an additional 15 days of graffiti removal was added, making Ocho complete his legal obligations in 2002.  If cleaning up graffiti doesn’t scare the hard unrelenting power of the law into you, then I don’t know what will!  Sounds like a changed man to me 😛

Ugh.  Why do guys think it’s ok to beat up the ladies?!  Its soo not ok to hit a person who is significantly smaller and weaker than you, even if they are a bitch.

If convicted, Johnson faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. He also could receive community service, probation or anger management classes.  YEA, like that is going to work this time.  Chad, do yourself a favor, divorce this gold digger and go back to Ocho Cinco.  Don’t start taking tips from Chris Brown over there, and do your time in jail.  Be a man.
